Welcome to Lumley Connect
As the new Head of Distribution for Lumley Insurance, I’m excited about what 2012 holds for both our company and our broker partners.
For those of you who I haven’t yet met, I’ve been in the industry for more than two decades, and previously held senior roles at both IAG and Suncorp. I joined Lumley Insurance in October 2010 as National Account Manager for the Steadfast Group, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know Steadfast and their aligned brokers over the past 15 months, as well as meeting many individual principals and account managers. I’m really looking forward to strengthening these existing relationships and forging new ties with all our broker partners.
The past year has been a time of ongoing transformation here at Lumley Insurance, during which we’ve launched a number of innovative products on my.place@Lumley and fine-tuned our operating model to improve our underwriting and claims service offering. As a result, Lumley now has an excellent value proposition to offer you and your customers, and we welcome any opportunity to pitch for your new business.

The hardening insurance market will certainly create some challenges for us all in the coming year. Recently you would have received a note from John Nagle, Chief Executive of Lumley Insurance. This note outlined our difficult decision to further increase our premiums. Telling our clients that their premiums are going up due to increased claims and reinsurance costs is never easy, but as John has said in the past, these premium rises are necessary because they will help to ensure the long-term sustainability and strength of the insurance sector.
