For over 100 years Australian insurance brokers and businesses have relied on Lumley Insurance to tailor products and services for their individual, SME and corporate clients.
Operating through a network of offices across the country, our specialist knowledge and local relationships give us the flexibility to develop customised products that meet specific client needs and commercial objectives.
Lumley Insurance is a trading name of Wesfarmers General Insurance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wesfarmers Limited.
We employ over 850 people across 13 office locations and underwrite more than $750m of insurance premiums each year.
We structure our business operations based on our two primary distribution channels:
Intermediary Partners
Helping licensed insurance brokers deliver tailored solutions to individual, SME and corporate clients. Our mainstream insurance products include Commercial and Motor Fleet, Property, Liability, Marine & Logistics, Accident & Health, Engineering and Personal Lines.
Corporate Partners
Helping businesses deliver personal insurance products and services to their customers. We work with organisations across a range of industries with a strong brand and retail presence, who themselves are not traditional insurance services providers.
Our History: Strength through heritage
Lumley is an iconic Australian insurer, with operations stretching back over 100 years. We have a rich family history and a proud past, giving us a strong and almost unique position in the Australian insurance market.
Our heritage is a valued part of who we are today. The Lumley Crest continues to be an integral part of our logo. This crest dates back to 1964 and the anchors, stars, sheep and wheat represent our original insurance foundations in marine, personal lines and rural business.
After 100 years of family ownership, Lumley Insurance was acquired by Wesfarmers in 2003.
